Kempinski Hotel River Park and Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras are once again recognised as the best hotels in the Slovak Republic this year

Bratislava, 26 March 2014 - In the 2014 Trend Top rankings for restaurants and hotels, the two hotels from Best Hotel Properties, a.s. group portfolio defended their top rankings from last year. Additionally, the chef of Kempinski Hotel River Park was recognised as one of the top ten chefs in the nation. Likewise, according to Trend Top, the sommeliers of both hotels were also among the top ten in the Slovak Republic.

"We appreciate that the hotels from our portfolio again ranked in the top positions of the prestigious Trend Top restaurant and hotel rankings. It clearly shows that we try to maintain the quality of services at the highest level possible," said Branislav Babík in regards to the awards. Mr Babik is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Best Hotel Properties, which has both hotels in its portfolio. He added that apart from the five-star hotel services offered by its properties, they also try to bring a culinary experience to the guests. A new concept of the so-called pure kitchen, prepared by the Chef Björn Juhnke with his team, has been presented at the River Bank restaurant in Kempinski Hotel River Park this month. It offers a simpler menu with the best origin claim that points out the purity and beauty of products offered in the River Bank restaurant. Guests of Grand Hotel Kempinski in High Tatras can also look forward to a new spring menu. The Grand Restaurant's chefs, Tomáš Tejbus and Jozef Breza, have focused on seasonal products and fresh spring recipes.
First place, in the hotel category, for the 2014 Trend Top rankings for restaurants and hotels went to Bratislava Kempinski Hotel River Park, which received 185 points. Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras in Štrbské Pleso was second with 183 points. This year's jury assessed almost 90 of the best hotels and more than 150 restaurants in the Slovak Republic. The most important criterion was the quality of services provided. Moreover, the chef of Kempinski Hotel River Park, Björn Juhnke along with sommelier Rastislav Šuták, from the same hotel, and Matúš Hamara, from Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras all received awards. The River Bank Restaurant in Kempinski Hotel River Park ranked eighth among all assessed restaurants in the Slovak Republic.
