A fusion of water and shiatsu, it is a form of body massage performed while floating in warm water. It combines the therapeutic benefits of warm water and Zen Shiatsu, Yoga, Alexander Technique and Meditation. WATSU can reduce pain, stress and fatigue. It can also induce the release of emotional issues and deep-seated traumas.
Adapted Watsu is designed for the specific need of people. The practitioner uses Zen Shiatsu pressure points and many other techniques for decreasing the pain and improving the ability to move. Adapted Watsu is used to modify the body utilizing floatation pillows and aqua noodles. Watsu is being incorporated into Aquatic Bodywork treatment programs in hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation centers around the world.
Watsu For Pregnancy
Pregnant women derive a special pleasure from Watsu, since the warm water relaxes lower back tension and soothes away pain and stiffness. No other therapy offers the profound relaxing weightlessness, alleviation of physical and emotional prenatal stress and anxiety. The warm water is safe and perfect for the unborn child. Both mother and child experience a new freedom and expansion benefiting both.
Aquareflexo is a new method of aquatic bodywork which consists in stimulating reflex points of all organs through Acupressure on the feet. The pressure points are less sensitive in the water and the work on the body is more deeper than on land. AquaReflexo improves blood supply and promotes the unblocking of nerve impulses. The energetic system becomes balanced. Promotes calmness and a sense of well-being.
Waterdance is a form of aquatic bodywork like Watsu, it begins on the surface. Then the receiver is given a nose clip and step by step is gently guided under the water. The session incorporates elements of massage, dolphin and snake movements, rolls, somersaults, inversions and dance. The effects are physical release such as joint mobilization and can encourage deep states of relaxation.
Tantsu is Watsu on land. There's no set pattern to the movements and there is much stretching, wavelike movement of the water, the breath and heart connection, stillness and cradling throughout the session. In the work itself, equal importance is placed on working with the chakras and Chinese Meridians.
Meditation is the ability to hold the body and mind in a passive state where perception combines with intuition by minimizing physical movements, providing calmness but razor sharp thoughts and a tranquil but energized body. Meditation increases our inner peace by focusing our mind and strengthening physical calmness.
Nepal’s traditional sound massage is applied with special bowls produced from an alloy of 16 different materials. Before the session we determine the chakras we are going to work on and we work on every chakra with their color one by one. You will explore the self-regeneration and self-treatment power of your body with sound vibrations reaching out to your body.
