Summer Festival Celebrations at Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko

Jazz and Opera Under the Sky

Every year in August, Bansko brings together some of the best Bulgarian and international jazz singers and musicians. Only a few days are left until the start of the 16th International Jazz Festival. The concerts are free for the public and will be held from 8 to 13 August, starting at 19:00 every evening in the town’s main square. During the warm summer evenings, jazz fans will have the pleasure of hearing performances from more than 25 bands and musicians under the open sky.

This year, the festival features, among others, Ive Mendes, Uroš Perić “Perry” with The Mambo Stars and Pearlettes, Angie King, Ana Moura, jazz trio Vein, The Blackout Trio, Rey Gelato and The Giants, Gadjo Dilo, Sentimental Swingers and the Mihail Yosiffov sextet, Miroslava Katzarova and the Band and Big Band Blagoevgrad.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko will again be a key location for some of the VIP performers of the festival. The hotel is organising a special jazz evening for all its guests on 9 August at the piano bar, Sing Sing.

The fabulous performance of the Nasko Miladinov trio and Petya Stancheva (vocals) will bring the jazz spirit to life. There will be no entrance fee and the bar will welcome all guests who would like to enjoy the hot jazz rhythms and summer cocktails until late in the evening. The hotel also offers its guests tickets for the concerts, which guarantee seating places in the VIP area in front of the stage.

The festival summer will continue with the fourth edition of the Bansko Opera Fest, which will be held during the last weekend of August. This year, the world will celebrate Verdi’s 200th birthday and the opera performances will be dedicated to the great composer. The organisers of the festival are Bansko Municipality and the Monte Music agency. Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko is among the main sponsors of the festival. The Bansko Opera Festival will open on 30 August with the ballet performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”. For the second night, the organisers have chosen “Rigoleto”, to be performed by the State Opera Rousse. Thanks to all supporters, the festival is free to attend and each of the festival nights gathers an audience of as many as 3,000 people in the town’s main square.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko offers attractive accommodation packages during the festival, and all guests who have booked Executive rooms or suites during the festival will receive a free VIP pass for the VIP area.
