Mahe, Seychelles, 23 October 2013: Kempinski Seychelles Resort welcomed the first guests to its newly expanded dining and recreational facilities after a brief closing of the resort during the month of September. The enhancement project saw substantial financial investment and was successfully completed in three short weeks in order to welcome guests again on the 1st of October, just in time for a busy month at the luxury resort.
“Feedback from guests and trade partners, and our aspirations to exceed guest expectations at Kempinski’s first resort in the Seychelles, were at the centre of the decision to further enhance key areas of the property” said Jean-Marc Michel, General Manager. “Our resort really showcases the beauty of the Seychelles. By opening a new dive centre and creating more outdoor dining space through expansion of our restaurants, we are able to offer more of a high-definition paradise experience to our guests.” Guests can enjoy the famous Kempinski breakfast while listening to the gentle waves in the lagoon and watching the palm trees swaying in the breeze. Dive into the clear blue waters and marvel at the vivid array of colourful creatures swimming beneath the surface, watch the sun sink over the sea as you sip a cocktail in the breezy Windsong beach bar, and then enjoy a long lazy dinner under the stars.
Freshly chiselled varnished woodwork and airy terraces offer an open invitation to sink into comfortable wicker tub chairs. Sun seekers can admire the sparkling blue waters while enjoying refreshing cocktails or dining on fresh steaks and seafood, hot off the grill.
Elegant domed pergolas enhance the naturally breezy main restaurant Café Lazare now with an additional 40 outdoor seats. The carefree luxury atmosphere can be enjoyed as full flavour creole delicacies sizzle from the new grill station to right onto your plate. The pergola theme continues along the L’Indochine restaurant terrace, where an additional 20 outdoor seats extend along the lagoon and looks out over dramatic graphite-grey boulders and island birds tip-toeing from one lily pad to the next.
Windsong beach bar is now transformed into a fully operational restaurant with a barbeque grill station. “Live cooking stations add variety to the guests’ dining experience as well as an opportunity for us to interact with guests to know how to elevate their experience at the resort and this spot has always been a favourite for our guests” says Ms Chassagnon, F&B Manager at the resort. “Offering a full menu now with a selection of grills and light meals in a beach setting at Windsong makes for what we like to call memorable "toes in the sand" experiences.”
Along the beach, 100m from the main building, a team of licensed diver guides at the new Dive Centre are ready to introduce avid scuba enthusiasts to the underwater heavens of the Seychelles. Guests have on the spot access to PADI courses as well as a variety of dive excursions. The “Pirates Cove” dive reveals underwater granite typography with sightings of whale-sharks and abundant marine life. An “Alice in Wonderland” expedition explores the enchanting coral site which survived the impact of the El Niño weather phenomenon.
