Preparations are underway at Emirates Palace ahead of the UAE’s 42nd National Day, where decorative desserts, educational documentaries, and light shows will capture the Spirit of the Union for visitors to the Palace next week.
Guests and visitors to Emirates Palace can expect a celebration to tingle all the senses, with a colourful laser show to light up the night sky and a traditional Dhow lighting competition alongside its 1.3 km beach on Monday, December 2nd. During the day, seven horses and camels will graze and ride across the sprawling lawns within the Palace property, dressed in Emirati colours.
“Compared to recent years, we are putting considerable effort into making this year’s National Day celebrations extraordinary for our guests and visitors,” says Holger Schroth, General Manager at Emirates Palace. “With Emirates Palace a proud landmark of Abu Dhabi, we are eager to contribute to the celebratory mood that is already sweeping the nation.”
National Day activities inside Emirates Palace include a 42-piece cake display in the middle of the central Palace Dome, with visual designs of the seven rulers of the UAE. Displayed in one corner of the central Palace Dome will be 42 varieties of dates. Another corner will showcase a documentary featuring the history of the UAE in English and Arabic from the National Centre for Documentation & Research, as well as a video greeting from 56 Emirates Palace staff members, each representing a different nationality.
All thirteen restaurants throughout Emirates Palace will display desserts in the UAE national colours. Guests looking for a local experience can enjoy lunch or dinner at Mezlai, the first Emirati fine-dining restaurant in the UAE. UAE residents also enjoy a special package to enjoy the celebrations, valid from 28th November to 4th December.
