Europe's oldest independent luxury hotel group, Kempinski Hotels brought experienced salesman David Sparrow onboard. A British national, David Sparrow has over 25 years' experience in various Sales positions, and joins Kempinski Hotels from Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts. As Vice President Sales, he will be responsible for Kempinski's group-wide sales activities, including regional sales offices, as well as trade events and roadshows. His objective is to enhance sales activities and to support individual Kempinski hotels in increasing their market shares within their regions. Additionally, he will represent Kempinski's interests towards all sales activities carried out by the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA). As Vice President Sales, David Sparrow will be based in Geneva, Switzerland, and will report directly to Duncan O'Rourke, Kempinski's Chief Operating Officer.
David Sparrow's career began in 1985 with the Crest Hotels Group as a Graduate Trainee following a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Business Studies and Marketing at Oxford Brookes University, leaving in 1990 as Regional Sales Manager. From 1990 to 2005, he gained considerable experience in various Sales positions at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, lastly as Director of Global Sales - UK, Ireland and Southern Europe prior to becoming Director of International Sales at Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, where he was initially responsible for the creation and management of Jumeirah’s Global Sales structure. Before joining Kempinski Hotels he was Director of Sales & Marketing – Europe at Jumeirah which included responsibility for the Global Sales Offices in London, Frankfurt, Moscow and Paris.
